Google Tensor SoC

The biggest feature for the Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro is the powerful Tensor SoC chip. Putting a focus on machine learning and A.I. over raw power, the applications for Tensor are near limitless. It’s sure to become the spearhead of the slow handset movement from a traditional quad-core processor to systems on a chip. They allow for longer battery life, smaller form-factors, and faster processing.

In Tensors case, we know about its photo and video adjustment features coming in for the Google Pixel 6 range just as adjusting white balance. It can also do cool things like recognize a blurred human face in a fast-moving image, then making the necessary adjustments. Google wants to innovate, and with them finally having a premium handset proposition, it looks like the world of Android handsets is about to change in a big way.

Not Officially Announced, But Might As Well Be

Although not officially confirmed, Posser is a trusted source. The news comes after a user called ‘Bald Panda’ stated that the Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro would launch on September 13th, the day before Apple’s iPhone 13 event. Smelling the bull due to the leaker not being very creditable, he’s checked with his sources and debunked this leak.

Google revealed the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro alongside its Tensor SoC chip via a series of Twitter posts back on 2nd August to a welcoming reception. Many believed they would be waiting until fall 2021 for Google to acknowledge the existence of the new handset and chip combo. It will also include vanilla build on Android 12, learn how to get the beta here.
