DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) version 3 is supported by NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs, including the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, 4080, and 4090. This latest version of DLSS offers improved image quality, increased performance, and support for a wider range of games.

The NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) is a major milestone in AI-based graphics technology, as it harnesses the power of the Tensor Cores in GeForce RTX GPUs to enhance performance. Built on the advanced hardware capabilities of the NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture, DLSS 3 creates entirely new high-quality frames, rather than just pixels.

DLSS 3 combines DLSS Super Resolution technology and DLSS Frame Generation to generate 7/8ths of the displayed pixels, elevating performance to unprecedented levels. For GPU-intensive games, DLSS 2 Super Resolution can boost frame rates by up to 2X. However, with DLSS 3, NVIDIA takes it even further, increasing the frame rates by up to 4X in fully ray-traced worlds.

In some games, the CPU can limit performance, but DLSS 3 operates on the GPU, bypassing any CPU bottlenecks and thereby improving frame rates. For instance, in Microsoft Flight Simulator, DLSS 3 GPUs can increase frame rates by up to 2X.

What games currently have DLSS 3?

DLSS 3 games are compatible with DLSS 2 technology, and developers simply need to integrate DLSS 3, which will automatically support DLSS 2 (also known as DLSS Super Resolution). Furthermore, DLSS 3 also integrates with NVIDIA Reflex, reducing system latency for all GeForce RTX users, and resulting in a more responsive gaming experience.

DLSS is a unique AI-based upscaling technology that is exclusively available on Nvidia RTX GPUs, unlike ray tracing which works on a variety of AMD, Nvidia, and Intel GPUs. DLSS plays a crucial role in enhancing performance at higher resolutions, particularly when combined with ray tracing, and it has become a necessity for many of the current ray tracing-equipped games, such as Watch Dogs Legion.

With that in mind, below is a list of some of the most popular games that can be played with DLSS 3:

  • Battlefield V
  • Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  • Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare
  • Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
