Finally, the complete ASUS ROG Ally X specifications list has leaked, and as many rumors suggested, the popular handheld gaming console will indeed come with 24GB of memory and a much better battery.

If you’ve been following the updates surrounding the ROG Ally X, you’ll most likely be annoyed by the lack of official specification news. Most of the specification-based news has been reported off the back of leaks, which, as history tells us, are often hit-and-miss in terms of legitimacy.

Fortunately, new information confirmed by Videocardz showcases a branded specifications list for the Ally X, confirming many of the leaked rumors we’ve reported on.

According to – what looks like – an officially branded ROG Ally X specification list (reported by Videocardz), the ROG Ally X will come with a few upgrades over its predecessor – including 24GB LPDDR5X 7500MHz memory and a new 80WH battery capacity.

As expected, the Ally X will feature the same 7″ FHD 120Hz, 500-nit display that supports Dolby Vision, alongside the same Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU, 8 Zen4 cores, and 12 RDNA3 compute units.

New specifications confirm large 80WH battery capacity

The biggest and most impressive upgrade over its predecessor has to be the battery life of the new console, which looks set to increase by double.

One of the most complained-about features of the ROG Ally was its lackluster battery life – which has been discussed in endless Reddit posts. Like any good manufacturer, ASUS has seemingly listened to its community and has rectified that issue with the latest arrival.

It has doubled the battery capacity of the ROG Ally X, up from 40WH to 80WH, respectively. At the time of writing this, it’s unclear just how much life the new battery capacity will give the Ally X, but some estimates are saying it could be in the region of 8 hours of usage. Of course, this likely refers to “Netflix & YouTube” streaming and not heavy gaming, whereas the original ROG Ally could only offer 1.5 hours.

In addition to this, the team behind ASUS ROG Ally X has also decided to equip it with a better cooling solution – which boasts a 10% increase in airflow over that of the original Ally. The new cooling will also be 23% smaller thanks to a 50% thinner fin design – making the performance even more impressive.

ASUS also mentioned that the ROG Ally X will feature a “Precision D-Pad” rated for up to 5 million cycles. Unfortunately, official pricing and release dates were not part of the images reported, but we’re still expecting a release date in June, 2024. More information on the matter will likely be unveiled at this year’s Computex next month.
