Windows 11 users face different issues from time to time, but Microsoft keeps releasing new updates to get rid of them. Considering Microsoft still struggles to get users to make the switch from Windows 10, every update is a step in the right direction.
These updates introduce improvements, fix bugs, and improve the overall user experience. Once again, Microsoft has rolled out a new update for Windows 11 that brings new features and fixes different issues users have been facing.
What does the Windows 11 KB5039302 update offer?
The latest update, titled KB5039302, is now available for download to all Windows 11 users. This update is being rolled out in two phases: a normal rollout and a gradual rollout. Changes included in the normal rollout take effect immediately upon installation, while those in the gradual rollout are released gradually to users.
Normal rollout changes
Changes in the normal rollout include fixes for audio distortions when recording videos with the Snipping Tool, improvements to the touch keyboard which was previously not letting users use special characters, and resolving issues linked to ejecting USB storage devices. Other than this, there’s nothing the update immediately offers.
Gradual rollout changes
If you’re playing a game on your PC, you will now see a Game Pass recommendation card on the Settings home page. This will affect both Windows 11 Home and Pro users. On top of that, the ‘show desktop’ button has been restored to the taskbar.
The latest Windows 11 update also introduces support for Emoji 15.1, which includes horizontal and vertical Head Snake, Phoenix, Lime, Brown Mushroom, and Broken Chain. And if you select files or folders in File Explorer, you will now see a black border around them. This will make it easier for you to see which files or folders have been selected.
Microsoft has made some changes to the File Explorer through this update, as users can now create 7-Zip and Tape Archive (TAR) files using the context menu. No fix for the Windows 11 Enterprise upgrade issue
For the past few weeks, Windows 11 Pro users have been facing an issue that is preventing them from upgrading to the Enterprise version. As the issue was highlighted in the previous updates, everyone was hoping to see a fix for it in the latest one. However, according to the update log, Microsoft is still working on it and will release a fix in one of the upcoming updates.
