What will the Z890 motherboards have to offer?

MSI will be introducing two new motherboards within the Z890 product family, these will support Intel’s next-gen Z890 motherboards and will include EDGE and PRO variations. Not too much has been revealed about these products however, from the photos taken and reported on by Wccftech, we can see that the EDGE variant will be showcased in the MSI MPG family and offer a brand-new design that features an all-white aesthetic with flashes of sliver across the heatsink. This board hosts dual 8-pin connectors that allow it to power the LGA 1851 socket, these will be placed on the right side of the PCB which will make them easier to connect.

On top of this, the Z890 EDGE motherboard will come with a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and one PCIe 4.0 slot along with four M.2 slots of which one is positioned in the larger heatsink. These PCIe lanes will come with an additional 8-pin connector and there is a range of IO ports, five USB 3.2 Gen2 (10 Gbps) ports, and dual USB4 Type-C ports.

In addition to this, the Z890 PRO will feature the latest QoL improvements such as EX PCIe Release, EZ M.2 Clip II, Screwless M.2 Shield Frozr, and EX Antenna.

Along with the Z890 motherboards, MSI will also be launching a new Z790 MPOWER board features the latest Mini_CUDIMM slots which are co-designed by MSI and Intel. It will offer a 12+1+1 DRPS power design and is powered by a dual 8-pin power connector interface.
