First, highlight the column that needs to be moved by clicking the header containing the relevant letter or number.

Click and drag

Next, move the cursor to the top-right of the column or row until it turns into a black crosshair.

Now, hold shift, left-click and drag the row or column line to the desired location as shown below.

Release the click to complete moving the column to the desired location, and that’s it.

How to move columns in Excel using cut and paste

Alternatively, you can move a column by cutting and pasting it.

First, select the column which you wish to move.

Next, with the column highlighted, press CTRL + X on your keyboard to cut it. Then, select a new column where you want the previous one to move. Once done, press CTRL + V and the column will be pasted.
