If you are trying to figure out whether your computer can run Adobe Premiere Pro, then we have you covered right here.

Now, if you want to do any serious video editing, you will have doubtless come across Premiere Pro. You are also probably aware that it is one pretty demanding piece of software when it comes to CPU usage. If you want to render out your videos quickly and efficiently, whether you are a creative professional or just tinkering with upping your social media game, it is best to get some idea as to whether you have the set-up capable of getting the most from Adobe Premiere Pro.

In this guide, we have covered minimum as well as recommended system requirements for Windows, Mac, and VR. Please note that these requirements are applicable for Premiere Pro versions 24.0, 24.1, 24.2, and 24.3.

For your Windows PC to run Adobe Premiere Pro, it needs to have Windows 10 (64-bit) 2004 or later version. The PC needs to have at least an Intel 6th Gen or AMD Ryzen 1000 Series CPU. However, it is recommended that Intel 7th Gen or AMD Ryzen 3000 Series or newer CPUs will work better.

Similarly, you will need a GPU with at least 2GB VRAM to handle all the graphic tasks smoothly. But of course, more VRAM and an advanced GPU will deliver even better performance.

For Adobe Premiere Pro to run on your macOS, the PC needs to have macOS Monterey (version 12). With the latest versions, the support for macOS 11.0 (Big Sur) has been discontinued. Simply put, this means that 24.x cannot be installed on older Mac devices. The new version is also not compatible with Rosetta. Mac users with Apple silicon and Intel-based Mac can use the 24.0 version.

That being said, your Mac needs to have at least an Intel 6thGen or newer CPU. But for the best experience, you can consider using Apple silicon M1 or newer chipsets.

These minimum requirements are for Premiere Pro 22.x and Premiere Pro 23.x.

Does Premiere need graphics card?

Yes, you will need a GPU to run Premier Pro. As you can see in the minimum system requirements, you will need a GPU with at least 2GB VRAM. For a better experience, you can pair it with a powerful GPU with 4GB or more VRAM.

How many GB is Premiere Pro?

As per the official system requirements, Adobe Premiere Pro needs 8GB of hard disk space and some additional space to install.

Conclusion

To sum up, you can run Adobe Premiere Pro on Windows as well as your Mac – just make sure that your system matches the version of the software. As is the case with every other editing software, Premier Pro also demands substantial computing power. You will need a decent CPU and GPU. Depending on the resolution you want to work with, you will need to up your RAM and storage.
