Claimed to be one of the most exciting new pieces of technology since the iPhone, there’s no denying the massive hype surrounding the Apple Vision Pro; even Tim Cook himself hailed the Vision Pro as the “most advanced consumer electronics device ever created”. So, it’s no wonder that fans outside of the US are eager to get a hold of the headset.

With its combination of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), this mixed-reality headset offers a unique and immersive experience for users. It first officially launched in the United States in Feburary 2024, but now other regions won’t have to wait much longer to get their hands on it. We can now explore the Apple Vision Pro UK & Canada release date, price, and availability.

Apple Vision Pro UK & Canada release date announced

There was previously plenty of speculation regarding the release of the Apple Vision Pro in the UK and Canada, but we don’t have to pay attention to that any longer. Now Apple has officially announced that the headset will be available in both these regions from the 12th of July, 2024, with pre-orders going live on the 28th of June. This comes from the annual WWDC conference which this year kicked off on June 10th. The full statement goes as follows:

“Customers in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom can pre-order Vision Pro beginning Friday, June 28, at 5 a.m. PT, with availability beginning Friday, July 12”

So, not only will Canada and the UK be getting the Vision Pro at the same time, but this also extends to Australia, France, and Germany. Furthermore, mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore are getting the Vision Pro – a little earlier on June 28th with pre-orders live as soon as June 13th.

What countries will get the Vision Pro next?

While we now have a longer list of countries getting the Vision Pro above, we can still take a look at an older rumor. A nifty spot from MacRumors revealed code that shows 12 new languages coming to the Apple Vision Pro keyboard, which previously only supported American English. The following languages will shortly be arriving soon:

  • Cantonese, Traditional
  • Chinese, Simplified
  • English (Australia)
  • English (Canada)
  • English (Japan)
  • English (Singapore)
  • English (UK)
  • French (Canada)
  • French (France)
  • German (Germany)
  • Japanese
  • Korean

This lines up with what has already been revealed so far, though Korea is yet to see availability, even if Korean becomes a supported language on the Vision Pro keyboard.

Are there any alternatives to the Apple Vision Pro?

Although Apple Vision Pro does not have a direct competitor in the market, there are alternatives available. One such competitor is Meta Quest 3, a mixed-reality VR headset offered by Meta (Facebook’s owner). While the Meta Quest 3 is primarily focused on gaming and has a more affordable price point, the Vision Pro offers advanced technology and the potential for a wide range of applications, including acting as a full desktop computer.

Other competitors in the VR market include Sony PlayStation VR and the line of Vive VR headsets from HTC. These alternatives cater to different user preferences and use cases, ranging from gaming to business and enterprise applications.

When was the Apple Vision Pro released in the United States?

As Apple’s native market, the United States was the first country to receive the Apple Vision Pro. Pre-orders started on 19th January, and the device was officially launched on February 2nd, 2024.

Conclusion

The release of Apple Vision Pro in the United Kingdom and Canada has been highly anticipated for a while now, as with its innovative features and immersive capabilities, the Vision Pro has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with technology. As Apple’s first venture into the VR and AR headset market, the Vision Pro represents a significant milestone in the company’s product lineup.

Now that the exact release dates, pricing, and availability have been confirmed, you’ll soon be able to check out the mixed-reality headset for yourself, if you can afford the eye-watering price that is. Either way, the worldwide launch is finally taking shape.
